Consignors: Earn 70% of selling price

(March 25, 2009—Dallas, TX)  The Ultimate Exchange was created out of a love for fashion and a budget.  Dallas entrepreneurs Michelle Fraser and Tonya Martin knew from speaking to friends and colleagues that many women don’t want to give up shopping in a recession but also can’t seem to pay full price for designer apparel.  The Ultimate Exchange was born out of today’s cost-cutting reality and is a three-day, semi-annual shopping event that is an eco-friendly and economical fashion experience.

“Our theme is reduce, renew, recycle,” said Tonya Martin, co-founder of The Ultimate Exchange.  “We offer smart and savvy women a shopping event that is fun and upscale.  It allows women to profit from recycling what’s in their closet and benefit from buying designer labels and fashionable apparel.”

Couture labels from Chanel to Valentino, items from higher end department stores such as Neiman Marcus, Saks, and Nordstrom and specialty stores like Banana Republic, Nike and Ann Taylor will be featured at the event.  Categories are ready to wear, jeans, formal wear, shoes and handbags.

“Let’s face it, in today’s economy it makes sense to be frugal but sometimes a girl needs to shop,” said co-founder Michelle Fraser.  “There’s nothing better than guiltless Gucci and The Ultimate Exchange is guaranteed to be a hot spot for the smart fashionista looking for a fabulous deal.”

The Ultimate Exchange is currently securing consignors for its May event.  Anyone who wants to turn their closet into cash can consign but there is a minimum of eight items to participate and all items will be screened for acceptability.  Consignors will earn 70% of their selling price and receive a check about two weeks after the event.  Items should be valued at $75 or more when purchased.  For more information and consignor guidelines, please go to: http://www.theultimateexchange.com.

As part of The Ultimate Exchange’s mission of benefitting and helping women, the event has partnered with three charities: The Elisa Project, Dress for Success Worldwide and The Fashionistas.  Consignors can give a portion of their proceeds to one of the charities or donate items to be sold at The Ultimate Exchange shopping event on behalf of one of the above charities.
